NZBdrop best alternative for now?

Yes, I’m still in need for a good usenet download application for the mac. Since I’ve started my search for a good binary downloader for my mac I started missing my windows machine…. Not really I still have windows on my Mac, but only for easy downloading from the binary groups… For now I use nzbdrop but I steel think this is not what I need however it does the job if you have a NZB file. I’ll try and put down some working methods later this week to see if any of you can help me improve my working scheme…

  1. I’m still looking for a good usenet app myself and the best i could find for now is Unison. Not the perfect app but still a good one.

  2. Unison is ok indeed, however it only supports one server afaik and keeps crashing every now and then. Advantage is that is has more option that nzbgrab and allows you to read post also.

  3. Maybe you should try SABnzb.
I used Unison before, and though that was not bad at all, i think SABnzb is much better.

  4. nzbdrop is making a mess with downloads in your finder folders.
unison is better and also faster.. i will try sabnzb also.

  5. Unison seems to work well (and does handle multiple connections– setting is on the server or download configuration tab), but I would like something that would automatically invoke the post-processing (apply PARs, unRAR, etc.). I may break down and write a shell script, but it seems like such a simple problem someone would have solved it already.
